Carnations is a hand-painted piece inspired by January — a month of quiet strength, gentle reflection, and the soft promise of fresh starts.

Created as part of my Birth Flower Collection, this painting draws inspiration from January’s traditional birth flower, the carnation. Often associated with love, resilience, and devotion, the carnation feels like a fitting symbol for the beginning of the year, a reminder that even in the stillness of winter, beauty continues to grow beneath the surface.

Layers of blush pink, warm peach, winter greens, and creamy whites drift across the canvas, blending together in a way that feels calm and comforting. A flowing curve winds through the piece, symbolising movement, transition, and the turning of a page. It reflects the feeling of standing at the start of something new, not rushed or overwhelming, but steady and full of quiet hope.
